A Savanna man was arrested Sunday after allegedly providing false information to police during a domestic disturbance call, leading to the possible revocation of a previously suspended sentence in a drug trafficking case.
According to the Savanna Police Department, Officer Kevin Parker responded to a report of a disturbance in the Savanna Gardens complex. At the scene, a woman identified as Kimberly Barron, told police she had been speaking loudly on the phone. A man at the residence initially identified himself as Herman Lloyd Edge but was later confirmed to be Kevin Dale Ward, 43.
Ward allegedly admitted to using a false name due to outstanding warrants. Both Ward and Barron were arrested after she repeatedly confirmed the false identity. She later told officers she lied out of fear he might become violent.
Ward was charged with obstruction of justice for providing a fake ID multiple times. His arrest also violates the terms of a 2021 suspended sentence for trafficking illegal drugs. He had previously been ordered to serve six months in a state-run revocation facility in 2024 after a prior probation violation. His bond has been set at $15,500.
