Indianola Woman Arrested After Newborn Twins Test Positive for Meth

An Indianola woman was arrested Monday on two felony charges of child neglect and child neglect/abuse after two newborn twins tested positive for methamphetamine shortly after birth at McAlester Regional Health Center, according to a report from the District 18 District Attorney’s Office.

The mother, identified as Brianna Graham, 31, reportedly tested positive for amphetamines at the hospital on the day of delivery. Investigator Cody Vaughn stated he was asked on March 11 to review toxicology reports from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services involving the infants, who were born on Feb. 17, 2025.

According to Vaughn’s report, lab results indicated that both infants tested positive for methamphetamine through umbilical cord blood samples. The concentration of methamphetamine in each case was reported to be over 100 nanograms per gram, with amphetamine levels measured at 50 ng/g and 45 ng/g, according to the report.

This arrest prompts a motion to revoke a previously suspended six-year sentence from 2020, during which Graham pleaded guilty to a felony charge of falsely personating another person to create liability. Records from the Pittsburg County jail show Graham is currently being held on a cumulative bond of $55,000 for all charges, and her next court date is set for June 12th.

This is the second woman arrested this week for child neglect after allegedly doing methamphetamine while pregnant.
