Savanna man charged with sex crimes against children

A Savanna man was arrested and charged with numerous counts of possessing child pornography and other counts of sex crimes against children.

Court records show Kyle Blaine Brown, 38, was charged in Choctaw Nation District Court with three counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of child sexual abuse, publishing/distributing/participating in obscene material, and enabling child sexual abuse.

Brown was being held in custody on a $2 million bond, along with another $500,000 bond for a motion to revoke a previous conviction, according to court records.

An affidavit filed in the case states the investigation began in March after a child disclosed that Brown was “a pedophile” and that he had previously sexually abused the child.

The investigator wrote that, after further investigation, Brown was just released from incarceration after a conviction for soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology. A motion to revoke was filed by the tribe on the previous conviction, court documents state.

According to the report, a total of two children disclosed that Brown had sexually abused them.

Investigators learned that Brown was believed to have sexually explicit material that depicted minors on his cell phone and that the man had downloaded a messaging app on his phone with “end-to-end” encryption, the affidavit states.

A phone that was thrown into a pond by Brown was recovered, and the data was extracted by the United States Secret Service and analyzed by investigators, the report states.

A total of 26 photos containing child sexual abuse material were found on the phone along with other sexually explicit material, the affidavit states.
